Someone said,”Christians read the Bible to get close to God and Atheists read it to get further from God.” Since God says to always respond when you can, I responded:
It takes wisdom to understand the Bible. You can ask two people to look at a flower. One says,”I got work, things to see, people to do. I have no time to look at a weed.” The other goes,”Hey, it’s not just beautiful on the flower part, but the stem. Hey if you look really deep into the stem, you see fractals, oooh. And some flowers are different than others, even the same species, beauty is all around us.”
It’s your perspective… Are you about love and helping others, or do you just want to help yourself. For the Bible is quite condemning of selfishness and people don’t like to hear that so they will get further away. A person who understands we should all be loving and helping one another gets the Bible.
There’s two kingdoms of note:
Babylon the Kingdom of Money
and
Zion the Kingdom of Love.
God teaches us that Babylon in its youth is tame… I sell my lumber, buy your eggs. It seems to encourage productivity. God teaches us Babylon in its full maturity is a system of corruption, control and manipulation fueled by rich people’s desire for prostitutes. The Kingdom of Money has failed to be good for everyone, and is a system of slavery. My grandparents on a coal miner job could afford a 3 story house a 70’x50’x70′ barn and 80 acres. No loans, just a majority of one year’s salary… This was in the 50s. Now automation has made things 100-1000x more inexpensive, can’t we buy 10 houses on one year’s salary? Why can’t we buy one house in our lifetime? Instead of things getting better. Things have gotten worse. I tell people how we made fun of Al Bundy for not having much, but he has many more than young adults and their faces shrink on that realization that Al Bundy had it good compared the continually shrinking buying power we have now! The prosperity has been entirely captured by the rich corrupt controlling class. Babylon the Kingdom of Money and control is in power and it is highly corrupt. Happy 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Darkside teaching us this, but God told us this 2000 years ago and hundreds before that too. Live with love in your heart to those around you as the people who think they’re great and rich think you should live on even less.
