Hello,
I’m a Carnegie Mellon Graduate in physics and computer science. I currently work in scientific research and make cool video games in my spare time. I’ve been gaming since 1980, and my mom got me a Ti-99 when I was 3 in 1981, and I’ve been coding ever since(despite my parents just being blue collar). There is a piece of software I recommend ALL parents everywhere get their kids if they can get a TI-99 or emulator, for it beats EVERYTHING tried since. Remember edutainment was failed in the 90s and people grasp at straws today still at what to do to grab a kid’s attention, yet educate them. There may be better things coming around the corner, but this is literally the BEST software I’ve ever since, and it sounds strange since its from 1981. Check out “Addition and Subtraction” from TI-99: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnf7feHJ73I
If you sit your kid on this for a half hour each day and let them play on, they’ll be a math genius before they’re even in preschool. This is the best of the best software. It’s hard to obtain because you need an old TI-99, or an emulator, but quite nothing is like it.
