I like that God wants us to be good and loving always.

Romans 13:9 The commandments, “Do not commit adultery; do not commit murder; do not steal; do not desire what belongs to someone else”—all these, and any others besides, are summed up in the one command, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Leviticus 19:18Do not take revenge on others or continue to hate them, but love your neighbors as you love yourself. I am the Lord.

So often in life we see someone going down the wrong path, and as things align, we finally get the chance to teach them a lesson by perfectly timed revenge. It may seem like it would help them to give them some “tough love” at a key point in that they may change their ways.

Only God can truly change someone though. And God wants us to always be good and loving. This means it isn’t right to “teach someone a lesson” via revenge. Be good and loving to everyone. Pray for people to accept Jesus, and let God do all the work.

For God to tell us to always be good and loving is a blessing. Anyone can try being good and loving. It requires no fighting skills, no doctorate of science, and no money. Just be as good as you can to everyone, and have faith in Jesus. It isn’t easy to always love, but it is a calling we can all aspire to.
