Psalm 131: You don’t need to figure everything out.

Psalm131:1 Lord, I have given up my pride and turned away from my arrogance. I am not concerned with great matters or with subjects too difficult for me. 2 Instead, I am content and at peace. As a child lies quietly in its mother’s arms, so my heart is quiet within me. 3 Israel, trust in the Lord now and forever!

I like this psalm a lot. We don’t need to worry about plagues, or the government failing, or wars spiraling out of control if that isn’t our fields. God has the whole world in his hands. This psalm can make a simple man who works for a living and minds his own business feel like he is living optimally for God. It doesn’t mean you’re ignorant simply because you don’t have an opinion on everything under the sun. In fact we can find that it can be wise to honestly not know something over thinking you know when you really don’t.

Extra: God is real. Jesus forgives sins.

God forgives us even if we go wrong. Lets try our best to be good and loving. If we mess up though, God forgives. Have faith in Jesus Christ’s power to save. We cannot out sin grace, nor should we try to. Just try your best to be good and loving to all. Little slip ups along the way, or even big falls, and Jesus still forgives.

Praise God for being good and forgiving. Thank you Jesus. I continually see how much I need your grace as I mess up even trying my best to serve. Amen.
