I’m not Catholic, but Lets Take a Moment to Love and Respect our Catholic Brothers and Sisters.

I see divisive posts, and talked about more than one person who was confused about Catholics, so why not, why not gush on some Catholics.

First off, you guys are worshiping The Father of Jesus, just like me. So we’re brothers and sisters in the faith of goodness, love and honesty. We’re united under Jesus.

Mark 3:35 Whoever does what God wants is my brother, my sister, my mother.”

We both have an enemy who seeks to undo us. We fight mostly by being good, loving and helping everyone around us. We fight by quoting scripture. We’re united against a common enemy of evil and lies. While we do battle with the forces of darkness on a day to day basis, whether we lose or not doesn’t change the fate of evil. The devil, death and evil spirits lost when Jesus breathed his last then came back from the dead. We may do battle daily, but the war is already won by Jesus.

I love this Pope from the very beginning. He’s been so pro poor that he told his fellow priests not to fly and see him come into popehood, but instead spend that money on the local poor. He isn’t afraid to be caring to people around him. I prayed you guys would get a good Pope, and I feel you did.

As for the common lies people have against the Catholic church? I can answer one in my common preaching routine. Ok the lie is that some people think that if the Vatican sold all its assets, it could donate it all and do maximum good. They don’t take into account that there would be no more buildings to attract new followers to worship, or take in future tithes. It is like saying to the CEO of Walmart, hey, sell everything you have in the stores, including the property, and the stock holders would benefit. It is so foolish of a statement to have to address, that I hope I don’t sound like a fool even acknowledging it. It is just these people pretend like they’re smart and know something, but they’re just run of the mill fools.

I respect the office of priests and nuns and their vow to celibacy. I am not thinking needing to be celibate to be a priest is something I think is great. What I am saying is that for these people to love their God so much to make a sacrifice like that is respectable. A lot of common folk try and pretend God isn’t real to do sexual immorality. It is one of the most common things under the sun. Following God should have us be chaste until we’re married and God will bless the marriage. That is tough in itself. But to not even allow for that to be possible… that is a huge sacrifice that I respect.

There’s so much more to be said and hugs to be spread, but I want to avoid a wall of text and say:

tl dr: I love you guys, and hope others do do. Loving others is so much nicer when you get loved back. Amen.
