Daily Bread #7 Hope for Windfalls

Opening:
Life can be a struggle. You can be barely treading water for years. Some people think to give up or check out forgetting there is God’s provision that could happen at any moment.

A windfall is just a good stroke of fortune. Life is random to us, but God has it under control. What are we born with? What do we get from work? What spouse do we marry? Do we marry a spouse at all? Do we win contests? Do we have some random relative leave us an inheritance? There is so much that seems up to chance if we think about it. If we don’t think about it, we just look at our feet while we walk. Expect and pray for windfalls though. They really do happen.

Prayer of Forgiveness:
Jesus, help us to carry on and not despair. Help us to have hope in a better tomorrow. If we try and do good and loving to everyone, our own status in life is of secondary importance. Eventually by following you, we will get to Heaven, and that is guaranteed. Thank you for not eternally keeping our mistakes against us. Amen.

Movements of the Holy Spirit:
As you can tell by the tone of this sermon, I actually did get my vehicle today. It was inexpensive and pretty nice. I needed to get a car. My current car has issues that make it hard to drive. And my Gran needs wheels. So I now have two vehicles, and it is nice. I got my windfall. I pray God sends you yours.

Today’s Blessing:
I hope you guys and gals get a windfall sometime. I pray you guys have the hope for tomorrow. I can’t guarantee a windfall for you. I just pray for one, and God’s will be done. He has the final say on everything and that is great. What is guaranteed though is eternal life. So live every day in love and goodness.

Praise for God:
Thank you for air conditioners in this hot weather. Thank you for friends. Thank you for family. Thank you for your creative power of making beautiful things on Earth. God, you rule! Amen.

Prayer Cues:
Pray people have enough to get by on.

Pray people don’t lapse into depression because the daily grind seems unwinnable.

Pray people get stoked there is hope in the Son of God: Jesus Christ.

Scripture of the Day:
Proverbs 11:10 A city is happy when honest people have good fortune, and there are joyful shouts when the wicked die.
