Jesus was put through the most extreme temptations. Some of which are documented in the Bible such as going without food for forty days. We know he was beaten. The devil attempted to tempt Jesus on betraying God to avoid his crucifixion with a lie that he could be second in command to the evil one. We know he was crucified and still loved God and us even to death.
Contrast this with the devil who was given more than anyone, yet still fell away because he wanted more. He looks at others with contempt who love God yet have less. “How could they love God and not have much?” he might think. Satan put Job through hell on Earth to express this.
Job 1:9 Satan replied, “Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it? 10 You have always protected him and his family and everything he owns. You bless everything he does, and you have given him enough cattle to fill the whole country. 11 But now suppose you take away everything he has—he will curse you to your face!”
God could not have said to Satan,”Well, I gave you so much and you fell away.” For the devil would have just said,”Give me more! Give me it all!” God did the proper thing for God’s mind is above all.
The devil wanted more. The devil wanted Job to fail. The devil wanted Jesus to fail. The devil wants you to fail… All because he wants more and more and can’t see how anyone could love God who gets less, and is humble and obedient. Follow Jesus and God no matter what your lot is in this life. The next life will be amazing for those who are selfless and loving and not evil and so selfish that hurting others is okay.
I know God is real. I know he loves you. Even if you don’t know he is real, he still loves you. Even if you’re living a sinful life, he loves you, don’t think God is against you. God is against sin, but not you. Hey even if you hate God, God still loves you.
We should be good and loving to all. We should repent of sin. We should help our fellow people once we get our feet on the ground and can share food with others. Lets help out as many people as we can, and love everyone. This is our calling. Have enough faith in God to try and be good and loving to all.
