I have questions on the forums from time to time that I’d like to answer for others here.
So god can kill evil people then?
When a police shoots and kills an terrorist actively killing people, we praise the police officer as a hero. Right? This policeman took an evil person’s life to save others’ lives. We as society do agree that this policeman should be praised.
God however, knows everything you’ve done in your entire life, and everything you will do til you die then everything you’ll do in the afterlife. God has more right to kill an active evil person to prevent them from hurting those who would be good. For there really is no defense against evil whatsoever apart from God. Security and safety is an illusion.
The policeman did not know the circumstances of what drove this guy to kill, or if the people he killed would end up being good or evil themselves. All the policeman knows is this terrorist right now, should not be killing people. The fastest thing the policeman can do to stop this evil person is shoot em with his gun. God however, does not immediately kill everyone. He’s stopped bad guys in different manners.
For instance, there was a holy man of God so powerful that he was able cure the skin disease of a foreigner who didn’t even worship God, but honored the nation of Israel. After being cured, he offered money for the service, the holy man declined, but the holy man’s assistant chased down the cured man later and demanded the money… The holy man’s assistant got that guy’s old skin disease… You know the rest of that guy’s life living with a disease, he thought about how he should not have done evil for greed and would repent. God turned another dude’s wife into a prostitute because the nation was being unfaithful. God twisted the curses of one man into a blessing because he was trying to curse the wrong thing.
The end of it all is that God loves us. God wants us to live in peace and happiness. Some random evil totalitarian people out to wreck our society and hurt us, God has to stop. We have no defense against weasels and snakes of people. So God stops em. God came down here to suffer die on a cross in a form of a man as Jesus because he doesn’t want us to suffer. The whole story, from beginning to the far reaches of eternity is that God wants us to live happy, pleasurable, fulfilling, artistic ad peaceful lives. Evil tries to stand in the way of that, but God’s more powerful because love is stronger than hate.
Didn’t he kill children for something the Pharoah did?
Remember the old spiritual teaching of an eye for and eye, a tooth for a tooth?
The Pharaoh was committing genocide of the Israelites by throwing the Hebrew males to the crocs when they were born.
Divine spiritual retribution here was that Pharaoh was choosing to kill his own children. Pharaoh should not have chosen to be a mass murderer of children and that event would not have happened.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth has since been replaced by Grace of Jesus.
