Love Our Jewish Brethren

Matthew 1:1 This is the list of the ancestors of Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, who was a descendant of Abraham. 2-6 From Abraham to King David, the following ancestors are listed: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah and his brothers…

The New Testament is the greatest book ever written and most read book ever read. It is important to know that the beginning of of the New Testament speaks of the first book of the Old Testament regarding to how the world began and God’s plan. God’s plan was to pick one nation of all the nations on Earth to represent, bless and defend in order to show the entire world that LOVE IS THE WAY. The very opening of the New Testament shows how important the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Judah is. The lineage of Judah led to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the most important being in all of eternity forward and all of eternity past. Jesus Christ’s opinion values infinitely more than man’s established facts. So if Judah matters to Jesus, Judah should matter to Jesus’ followers.

The word Jew is short for the people of Judea. The people of Judea got their name from the people who live in Judea who are the sons and daughters of Judah. Judah got his name from his father Israel. Israel was approved of by the Spiritual Fatherly God of Love so much that God personally changed his name from Jacob to Israel. Jacob’s Earthly father Isaac also was approved by the Spiritual Father God of Love. Isaac’s Earthly father Abraham was so approved by the Spiritual Father God of Love that literally he and his descendants are a well of blessings

Genesis 12:1 The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your relatives, and your father’s home, and go to a land that I am going to show you. 2 I will give you many descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will bless you and make your name famous, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, But I will curse those who curse you. And through you I will bless all the nations.”

If you bless a descendant of Abraham, you become blessed. If you curse a descendant of Abraham, you become cursed. As Christians, we know all of this is true. Jesus teaches us elsewhere that the Old Testament stays relevant and its words remain true

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true.

We know that if you curse a descendant of Abraham, you become cursed. We know that if you bless a descendant of Abraham, you become cursed. Abraham’s ancient enemy and also our modern enemy the devil will ask the question,”Yes, but who is a son of Abraham?” in order to push division. This question is easy to answer, but takes time to explain much like you do not jump to conclusions in court without hearing the whole case.

We know that Messianic Jews are both spiritual and physical sons and daughters of Abraham. This is to say that they’re a Sons/Daughters of Abraham by birth by being physical descendants of Abraham. They are also Spiritual Sons/Daughters of Abraham by accepting Jesus to the worship love which results in them dedicating themselves to help all those around them.

Where does this leave Christians and Jews that do not believe in Jesus Christ the Son of the God of Love? Christians are Spiritual Sons/Daughters by accepting Jesus but we may not be physical descendants of Abraham. Non-Messianic Jews are Sons/Daughters of Abraham by birth by being physical descendants of Abraham.

Romans11:13 I am speaking now to you Gentiles: As long as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I will take pride in my work. 14 Perhaps I can make the people of my own race jealous, and so be able to save some of them. 15 For when they were rejected, all other people were changed from God’s enemies into his friends. What will it be, then, when they are accepted? It will be life for the dead! 16 If the first piece of bread is given to God, then the whole loaf is his also; and if the roots of a tree are offered to God, the branches are his also. 17 Some of the branches of the cultivated olive tree have been broken off, and a branch of a wild olive tree has been joined to it. You Gentiles are like that wild olive tree, and now you share the strong spiritual life of the Jews. 18 So then, you must not despise those who were broken off like branches. How can you be proud? You are just a branch; you don’t support the roots—the roots support you. 19 But you will say, “Yes, but the branches were broken off to make room for me.” 20 That is true. They were broken off because they did not believe, while you remain in place because you do believe. But do not be proud of it; instead, be afraid. 21 God did not spare the Jews, who are like natural branches; do you think he will spare you? 22 Here we see how kind and how severe God is. He is severe toward those who have fallen, but kind to you—if you continue in his kindness. But if you do not, you too will be broken off. 23 And if the Jews abandon their unbelief, they will be put back in the place where they were; for God is able to do that. 24 You Gentiles are like the branch of a wild olive tree that is broken off and then, contrary to nature, is joined to a cultivated olive tree. The Jews are like this cultivated tree; and it will be much easier for God to join these broken-off branches to their own tree again.

How do we reconcile those who are born of the Spirit of Love vs those who are born in the flesh from one that is blessed by the Spirit of Love? Right away you should know Christians should be loving to all. But there are kinds of lies that come from bad people that slander the Jewish people. Christians should be wise as serpents and be able to see that these lies originate from the evil serpent himself. Still even if you cannot understand the origin of slander or know how long they work to form cunning lies to make our Jewish brethren look bad, a Christian’s heart should immediately balk at unfounded slander.

Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

Where else in the Bible do we know God loves even those born of the flesh of Abraham and not just those operating in the Spirit of Love? Immediately, those of you trained in knowledge of the Holy will remember that Abraham had two sons. Abraham was promised a descendant of the spirit, yet wanted to ensure it happened because his wife was concerned that she was barren and could not have children. Sarah told Abraham to make love to her handmaid and Ishamel was born of Abraham physically. The son of the Spirit promised by God was Isaac born of barren Sarah at 90 years old. Most of you guys remember this, but did you ever draw the connection that Father Abraham loved both his son of the spirit and his son of the flesh?

Genesis Chapters 16 & 17

Since Father Abraham loved both his son of the Spirit: Isaac and his son of the Flesh: Ishmael, we as Christians should have yet another reason to love The Jewish People. If it wasn’t enough that Jesus Christ himself was Jewish, if it wasn’t enough that the entire Bible is about loving everyone, if it wasn’t enough that we see that God chose the Jewish people, we just learned that Father Abraham loved both his son of the Spirit and his son of the Flesh. We too should love The Jewish People whether they are sons of the Spirit and agree with Christians that everyone should love each other. And we should love The Jewish People who haven’t quite discovered that love is the way to live in all circumstances. It is our job as Christians to be so loving and kind that it is infectious and burns like a fire in our hearts and spreads to our fellow man. Choose to stoke the fires of love and quench the fires of hate.

Love everyone around you making no real distinctions who they are. The devil wants us divided and hating each other, Jesus wants us loving everyone. The division that Jesus puts between us is more of a spiritual one to show that there is a difference between good and evil, love and hate. So always be good, always be loving, and appreciate people of all races and nationalities. This is not to say to respect other religions. The first two of the Ten Commandments say to totally reject religion not of God! Typically if another person’s religious belief system is incorrect, it clearly shows up as incorrect when it manifests itself as not being loving to others. The Jewish Old Testament is loving and is the foundation of Christianity which we also honor as the Word of God. If we’re to love people of foreign religions which might have little to no basis in love, it should be way way easier to love our Jewish brethren and sistas who share our core beliefs that the Great I Am is in charge, and he wants us all being good and loving to each other.

Romans 11:1 I ask, then: Did God reject his own people? Certainly not! I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people, whom he chose from the beginning. You know what the scripture says in the passage where Elijah pleads with God against Israel: 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me.” 4 What answer did God give him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not worshiped the false god Baal.” 5 It is the same way now: there is a small number left of those whom God has chosen because of his grace. 6 His choice is based on his grace, not on what they have done. For if God’s choice were based on what people do, then his grace would not be real grace. 7 What then? The people of Israel did not find what they were looking for. It was only the small group that God chose who found it; the rest grew deaf to God’s call. 8 As the scripture says, “God made their minds and hearts dull; to this very day they cannot see or hear.” 9 And David says, “May they be caught and trapped at their feasts; may they fall, may they be punished! 10 May their eyes be blinded so that they cannot see; and make them bend under their troubles at all times.” 11 I ask, then: When the Jews stumbled, did they fall to their ruin? By no means! Because they sinned, salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make the Jews jealous of them. 12 The sin of the Jews brought rich blessings to the world, and their spiritual poverty brought rich blessings to the Gentiles. Then, how much greater the blessings will be when the complete number of Jews is included!
