2 Timothy 1:8 Do not be ashamed, then, of witnessing for our Lord; neither be ashamed of me, a prisoner for Christ’s sake. Instead, take your part in suffering for the Good News, as God gives you the strength for it. 9 He saved us and called us to be his own people, not because of what we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace. He gave us this grace by means of Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but now it has been revealed to us through the coming of our Savior, Christ Jesus. He has ended the power of death and through the gospel has revealed immortal life.
Mark 8:38If you are ashamed of me and of my teaching in this godless and wicked day, then the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
We should be bold about our King of kings. He is noble, right, just and true. We praise Jesus because he is worthy to be praised in goodness and love. Many kings want to be known as good even if they’re jerks. Jesus is no jerk. He is awesome in power, might and majesty. His Father does powerful works that are strange and wonderful. His spirit guides us in the ways of kindness and actions.
We must not be ashamed about our wonderful Messiah. We must not be ashamed of what man will think of us. Preach love and goodness through Jesus. Preach the crucified Christ who died and came back to life and now reigns forever. If people mock you for the cause of God, they did that to Jesus too, and you will be rewarded for baring shame in the Coming Kingdom of God. If people accept your words, turn from their sins and follow Jesus, that is even better. So there is no reason to be ashamed of Jesus. You are rewarded for bearing fruit in the Kingdom or bearing scorn for the Son of God.
