Do you know why Canadians speak French, United States citizens speak English and Mexicans speak Spanish? The Spanish originally sought gold in the Caribbean. The English and French had colonies too. All three of these empires were empires that conquered and exploited foreign countries to some extent. In recent history only as far back as the 1700’s and 1800’s wars for profit were a thing. Hate paid the bills back then.
Things changed in the 1900’s. During World War II, the Atomic Bomb was developed. After the war, a couple of superpowers including the US and USSR got enough atomic bombs to blow up the world many times over so no remnant of humanity would exist. If humanity did exist after all the bombing, the latent radiation in the soil would lead to many people getting cancer for many generations. And that is assuming anyone survives the nuclear winter. Yes, we seemingly got the power to totally destroy the Earth with Atomic bombs. And since then even deadlier versions and other weaponry have been invented that could destroy the world. Thankfully no one ever pushed the button to destroy all of mankind in the Cold War. The Cold War between Russia and the US has never ended, and this is why it is good to be on their good side like Regan was. For when we’re friends with them, at least we don’t need to worry about the threat of Nuclear Annihilation, or maybe them allying with the terrorists.
So we look at all this and think, “Humanity can’t handle a big war anymore. We could totally destroy ourselves. While the recent Imperial Age had profit in being hatefully exploitative (which was terrible), it is better off now just to buy stuff from some other country’s factories instead of blowing them up. Losing lives to war is an even greater tragedy since they could be researching cures to diseases or making video games. Especially when the casualties may include numerous unsaved non-believers. ” The right-thinking person today looks at the idea of hate with hate. It is okay to hate. It is bad to hate people though. We gotta love in order to survive. Love or hate are the only two choices, and love is the only way.
Jesus teaches that we should love everyone. We should especially love our neighbors. You might have a head to think globally about wanting love everywhere, but you act locally. Love spreads like a wildfire, so if you’re kindling your neighborhood, helping everyone you can, they, in turn, may love those around them. The burning flame of love in your local community can spread around, and with God’s blessing, and faith in Jesus spreading, this love can reach further than you know!”
13 “Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Do all your work in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (GNT)
We all know hate spreads like wildfire too, which is why we call Jesus Christ’s words wise when he tells us to love our enemy. If we hurt and harm our enemy back, that spreads hate. If we love our enemy, it doesn’t always have em love us back, but hating and harming them most certainly won’t have em love us back! So again, Jesus has been teaching love is the way since mankind has been around.
4 “How happy I was to find that some of your children live in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. 5 And so I ask you, dear Lady: let us all love one another. This is no new command I am writing you; it is the command which we have had from the beginning. 6 This love I speak of means that we must live in obedience to God’s commands. The command, as you have all heard from the beginning, is that you must all live in love.”
2 John 4-6 (GNT)
Read the Bible. The entire thing is God getting angry at those being evil and hating and harming others and getting stoked at those championing the cause of love. If you follow Jesus, you stoke God, and he will champion your personal cause too. Blessings flow for those all in for the cause of love through Jesus. I personally get held by God, and at other times pleasure, joy, and happiness just chilling out. God makes my food taste better. There are literal blessings better than money can buy in God!
18 “God’s anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known. 19 God punishes them, because what can be known about God is plain to them, for God himself made it plain. 20 Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all! 21 They know God, but they do not give him the honor that belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. 22 They say they are wise, but they are fools; 23 instead of worshiping the immortal God, they worship images made to look like mortals or birds or animals or reptiles.”
Romans 1:18-23 (GNT)
Anyway, to conclude. Mankind finally figured out there is no other choice but love. Don’t live in your car, trying to avoid and not socialize with anyone. Don’t ignore and not talk with someone because they look old, ugly, or uninteresting. Talk and be cool to everyone! You want to spread love. We know this now. And the Bible has it recorded that God has been telling us this for thousands of years. Are we slow learners? Well, let’s start following the way of love it before it is too late.
13 I may be able to speak the languages of human beings and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. 2 I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains—but if I have no love, I am nothing. 3 I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burned[a]—but if I have no love, this does me no good.
4 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; 5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; 6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. 7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.
8 Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass. 9 For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial; 10 but when what is perfect comes, then what is partial will disappear.
11 When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways. 12 What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete—as complete as God’s knowledge of me.
13 Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.
