God promises eternal life and a friendly relationship with him. He wants us to forget the world’s ways of pride, schemes and selfishness.
Psalm131:1 Lord, I have given up my pride and turned away from my arrogance. I am not concerned with great matters or with subjects too difficult for me. 2 Instead, I am content and at peace. As a child lies quietly in its mother’s arms, so my heart is quiet within me. 3 Israel, trust in the Lord now and forever!
The more you find peace with God, the more you want to be his friend. Like a friendship that builds over a lifetime, the same holds true with a good relationship with God. It is like gravity falling into the LORD’s arms, the closer you get, the closer you want to get.
Hey, just giving some casual praise to God. God loves us tons. Jesus cares about us and never gave up on us. All God really asks is that we be good and loving to others. And being good and loving in our own eyes is okay for starters, but really we should read the Bible to learn how to be better.
Also we should pray. Pray about asking for help for yourself and others. God likes being asked for help. It gives him glory when we rely on him more even if things seem to be going well already. In addition to praying about help, tell God about your day. Tell God about your hopes and dreams. Tell him even if your dreams don’t come true that you’re okay because you have faith that you’re going to Heaven.
Looking up at the stars and gazing at God’s creation is a good time to pray. Going on nature walks and seeing plants and animals is a good time to pray. Pray at night before reading your Bible. If you have trouble sleeping, pray with your eyes closed. There’s lots of ways and times to pray. I even think,”If I ever get bored, I think that is a good time to start praying.”
Anyway, God is awesome. God is most excellent. God is good all the time. The all time good is God. All sorts of praise is good for God. Jesus is a good guy. Praise the guy.
My prayer is that you have more faith in Jesus. Have enough faith to at least be more good and loving. Anyone could do this much for God.
The way to live in life is hard to know outside of God. I’m reminded of Doors’ Lyrics to Riders on the Storm:
Into this house we’re born. Into this world we’re thrown. Like a dog without a bone. An actor out on loan.
Without God, you have no guidance on what is right or wrong. Anything can be justified especially if you get selfish and me-centric. This is because one who doesn’t have God hasn’t seen the light that guides you through life.
With God, we learn to be good and loving always. We’re supposed to be honest always and cheat no one. We’re supposed to help others in their walk. We’re supposed to work more than we would for ourselves to help the poor more. At the same time, we should strive to live on less to have more to help the poor.
We do all this because Jesus died for the times when we were evil. Jesus died for our sins. We’re forgiven. As such, he is taking us to Heaven after we die. Live a life of service and help others. Then end up in Heaven where we’ll be satisfied, and every moment is better than our best moment on Earth.
I know God is real. God loves you. Jesus is real. Jesus is LORD! Have enough faith to be good and loving always. I pray you have more faith in Jesus.
