1 John 4:16 "And we ourselves know and believe the love which God has for us. God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in union with God and God lives in union with him."
God is love.
Mark 10:18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus asked him. "No one is good except God alone."
God is good.
John 14:6,"Jesus answered him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.'"
Jesus is the way to the Father and the way to live. Jesus is truth and will not lie to his followers. Jesus is life, and he grants life to those who follow him. People who do not follow Jesus are following a sinful life which results in death.
John 15:1(Jesus said)"I am the real vine, and my Father is the gardener."
John 3:19 "This is how the judgment works: the light has come into the world, but people love the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil. Anyone who does evil things hates the light and will not come to the light, because he does not want his evil deeds to be shown up. But whoever does what is true comes to the light in order that the light may show that what he did was in obedience to God."
John 8:12 "Jesus spoke to the Pharisees again, "I am the light of the world,' he said. "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness.'"
God is light. Your own actions should be right such that you wouldn't mind if someone else saw what you were doing. When you fully understand God, you should be like a shining beacon which illuminates the way. Also you must tell everyone you can about Jesus Christ.
John 4:24"God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is."
God is Spirit.
John 5:17 "Jesus answered them, "My Father is always working, and I too must work.' "
God is at work always. If we're to be like Jesus, we must also be at work. If we're spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ on a Sabbath(be it Sunday or Saturday), we're in the right for Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. If we do good works for others on the Sabbath, we're also in the right. Scholars will disagree if it is ok to work for yourself on the Sabbath, but if you supply your own needs on the Sabbath, the next day you won't have to work for yourself, and you can work for others. Treat every day as holy, and do your work as the Spirit leads you.
John 10:9 (Jesus said)"I am the gate. Whoever comes in by me will be saved; he will come in by me and be saved; he will come in and go out and find pasture."
Jesus is the gate. He is the gate to a new life. Because Jesus forgives your sins, your conscious cannot condemn you. You are free to lead a life where you try to be good because you believe in God. Jesus is also the gate to Heaven.
John 10:11(Jesus said) "I am the good shepherd, who is willing to die for the sheep."
Jesus is the good shepherd. We are his sheep of his pasture. By following Jesus, we are kept from wandering away from the pasture into sinful areas of death. Jesus words are never empty. He said he was willing to die for us and he did die for our sins.
John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will; never die."
Jesus is the resurrection and the life. This means we may die, but God will bring us back to life. If we believe in Jesus and accept him as Lord, we won't have to die more than one time. If the end times come, we may not even have to die once. Following the ways of Jesus will bring us to the true way to live, and life in its fullest. Sin is deceitful in that it may make you happy for a bit, but then leave you low and closer to death. Jesus is truthful in saying that he is life because the more you follow Jesus, the better you feel about yourself. The biggest high you can get from sin is nothing compared with the constant feeling of happiness God can bestow upon you when you're doing right. What most people can reason is that you'll feel good about yourself for doing good deeds and having a good conscious. What people fail to realize is that God is all powerful, and can send down blessings of happiness and pleasure to you also.
