Your worth
To begin: You're worth more than all the stars in the sky to God. You're worth more than all the animals he's made. And the slightest bit of faith you have in God is worth more than all the wealth in the world. This applies to every last one of us human beings. It is a good thought to have, God loves you! And as we examine this, we'll see how it applies to us loving others:"If each of us is worth more than all the wealth in the world, then we should not exploit each other to get wealthy. This is because we might gain some gold, but we lose something more valuable: fellowship with others."
Matthew 10:29 For only a penny you can buy two sparrows, yet not one sparrow falls to the ground without your Father's consent. 30 As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. 31 So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows! So if what the Bible says is true, then PETA is wrong. PETA thinks animal life is worth just as much as or more than a humans. But PETA isn't the only organization that has things wrong. There are some organizations who believe life started by chance known as abiogenesis. Once you get to the conclusion that all we are is dust in the wind, you might come to the conclusion that life is a joke. When you get to the idea that life is meaningless, it can lead to any number of bad decisions. I know, because at once I didn't believe in God and thought life had no meaning. It is a terrible place for your mind to be. Thankfully that is just a lie that life is meaningless.
I have the best blessing there is in my opinion. I know that God is real. I'd rather know that God is real than have any other thing on Earth. After all God has my eternity, and he can give us anything he wants. God loves us, is generous, and knows what we want more than what we know we want. God is better than a genie because when he wants to grant us a blessing, it is better than what we'd wish for. The trick is, we're on Earth still and he wants us to become spiritually mature. Look at many lottery winners, they win millions of dollars, but get caught up with drugs and lose themselves and family members. To some, winning a lottery is a curse. And in the same way, getting everything you want in this life could be bad for yourself or others. So I'm patient to wait until the next life before expecting my reward. Why not be patient when it is a virtue talked about in Proverbs. Why should I not be patient when I know God is real? I know for a fact I'm going to Heaven. So my goal on this life is helping other people's faith. If you believed me, you'd know you're worth more than all the things in the universe, and more than all the animals. I don't just want you believing in God. I want you to believe you're worth more than anything material.
Some people say when they look up into the sky and see the stars that they feel small. But this should actually make you feel giant. God esteems you higher than all those stars. God cares about your day to day life. Every detail of your life, God cares about. God wants you to be moral, and be honest, and love people. The commands that Jesus gave us were to,"Love God to the fullest", and "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." If we follow these commands out, we should work a moral job, live frugally, and give our excess to the poor. If we all started loving each other, or even if only enough of us started loving each other, real problems in the world can be stamped out such as World Hunger.
World Hunger is presented in such a bleak light sometimes when you see it on TV. Television presents it in such a way that you should feel shamed for not giving money to the poor. And in a certain light, that might be the way to do things.
I'm going to present a different way of looking at it. 2.7 million children die each year to starvation. 0.33$ a day could feed a kid so he doesn't starve. This translates to 100$/yr to save a starving kid's life. 100$/yr*2.7million deaths/year = 270 million dollars a year to stamp out world hunger. People round this up to 1 billion because other sanitation factors and quality of life improvements help. So look at the a single nation's economy, 1 billion is only a drop in the bucket, not even 1% of what some nations spend! This means if enough of us unite together anonymously and just work moral jobs so we can give sacrificially that we can really eliminate world hunger!
Television makes it seem like the problem can't be solved. Television makes it seem like something to be sad about and try and forget about. But total victory can be achieved. World hunger can be solved if enough people give to the right programs. I don't want to make a big issue in this article as I like to go on positively how we can make a difference. I'm just saying if 100$/yr can keep a kid alive, and that kid's worth is more than all the wealth in the world... Then you're spending 100$ a year, to gain an infinite sum in return.
God does reward. I don't preach prosperity Gospel. I don't say give to get. I don't say if you help others everything will be good to you. I don't say if you give all your money away, God will provide for your needs anyway. I say,"Work a moral job, live frugally, and use your excess to help the poor." And God does reward. God might reward you in this life. God might reward you in the next life. When you give to the poor, it is like that poor person is Jesus himself! So many people want to be near to God. To get near to God, help the poor. When you help the poor, you help God.
Matthew 25: 34 Then the King will say to the people on his right, "Come, you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been prepared for you ever since the creation of the world. 35 I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, 36 naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.' 37 The righteous will then answer him, "When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? 38 When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' 40 The King will reply, "I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!'
Certainly you know God is more important than even us. Without God, we'd have no hope after death. Without God, we'd be defeated by evil easily. Only with God can we live forever in peace and love. God is more important than us, and God is saying we're more important than all the wealth in the world. So we should help the poor even more! Those who need help, we should give it to them. There's still no way to pay for our free gift in Jesus Christ of redemption and forgiveness of sins. Still, we should serve and help anyone we can. And let them know they're worth more than all the money in the world.*v1
