I know God is real.

God is love.  God wants us all to be good and loving.  If we were all trying to be good and loving, fewer people would suffer.  Traditional religion has us be told that if we do good, then we may be blessed by God which is our optimal way of living a life where suffer less.  It is possible to suffer for doing good though as we see with the lives of Job and Jesus. If we suffer while
doing good, cling even closer to God for that glorifies him and wounds evil spirits.  When I originally said that by being good and loving that fewer people would suffer through, I mainly meant that as we do less evil to others, fewer people get hurt.  God wants us doing more good and no evil to each other.

1 Peter 3:17 (GNT). For it is better to suffer for doing good if this should be God’s will, than
for doing evil.

1 John 4:8 (GNT). Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Some people think God calls them to murder via terrorism.   Nothing can be further from the truth. In the Ten Commandments, we’re commanded not to murder.  People should not do evil then blame God for it.  God wants us to seek peace even if it costs us getting shorted on material goods.

Exodus 20:13 (GNT). Do not murder.

We’re to love people who aren’t even good to us.  Jesus died for the worst of us.   Jesus offers forgiveness to any who’ve done any amount of evil.   The Gospel is like calling over to us who’ve gone astray,'”Yo, sick of yourself yet? I can give you a tremendous feeling of self-worth. Yo, is life empty? I can fill it with a sense of fulfillment.   Yo, want to defeat Death and then live forever?  I got that.  Come, stop being evil, try and be good.”

Matthew 9:13 (GNT). … I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.

I used to be depressed back in the day before God let me know he is real.  People would ask me about God and I would say,”If you want to know about God, go ask a religious leader, which I am not so don’t ask me.” I legit did not believe in God.  But I figured if He was real, maybe I should still hold respect for Him.  So attempted not to join the seat of mockers.   Once God let me know he is real though, my depression went away and I became super stoked about living.  Do you know that serving God can give a huge sense of purpose?

Some people seek to find purpose in money.  Then some of them get way too much money and realize it isn’t the answer.  These guys normally then say time is your biggest resource.  Some people seek fame and then see that as empty too.  Jim Carrey was quoted as saying,”I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.”  That is wisdom right there.  I hope Jim Carrey is a Christian. He played in Bruce Almighty which I think is actually a good movie.

Some people seek purpose in power, but that is just as empty as money and fame.  If you want to be a senator or president in the USA, it seems like everyone needs to take bribes these days. If you don’t take campaign contributions, how do you get the money to run tv ads and compete? The power-seeking isn’t as noble as one would think.

Some people seek purpose in a family.  And that is actually pretty okay. If you show your family love and help them, you are doing a call that God gives.   Just have God with your family. Be good and loving to all.  Save money to help your family, but also remember that donating to the poor can help bring blessings on your descendants to thousands of generations.

I’m just saying that serving God gives a sense of purpose.  Once you have God as a friend, you’re happy a lot more of the time.  Sharing God and helping others out of their depression is an act of a hero.  You might get people hating you and discouraging you, but the mission of Jesus to preach hope and love is truly noble.  Learn to ignore an insult and you can feel pretty good about yourself being the good guy or gal.

Proverbs 12:16 (GNT). When a fool is annoyed, he quickly lets it be known.  Smart people will ignore an insult.

1 Corinthians 9:25 (GNT). Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last forever.

God is love.  Be good and loving always yourself.  Help the poor, and value others greatly.  Read the Bible.  Pray selflessly.  Every human life is precious to God.  He even cares about the sparrows.
