Good and Evil Defined

What is good and evil?

Good is the desire to see other beings prosper and see other beings happy. Good beings love other beings, and good beings help each other.

Evil is the desire to use other beings for personal gain and not care what they feel. Evil beings may not even know what real love is.

Good beings living with only other good beings in eternity is Heaven. They take pleasure when other good beings are doing well. Also other good beings will be helping them because they like to see others do well.

Evil beings living with only other evil beings in eternity is Hell even if God doesn’t stoke the flames. Evil beings will all be trying to use each other. If one evil being is used by another, it makes it even more angry when it finds out. Forgiveness is not a virtue among evil beings and so eternal grudges will be forged.

Good beings can hate evil beings, but good humans should not hate other people. The reasoning is not simple, but I’ll take you through it. If a Christian judges another person as “evil” because of their sins, they should still be good to the “evil” person. Romans 12:20 Instead, as the scripture says: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them a drink; for by doing this you will make them burn with shame.” If you’re evil back to an evil person, that gives them just cause to continue to be evil. Being kind to a person in this life could make their judgement day fiercer. I don’t know the mind of God, but we can logically assume that a man that does evil when everyone was good to him will be judged harsher than a man who has done evil because evil was done to him first. So whether you’re forgiving or want things worse for your enemy, you should be good to them. Being vengeful to another human being is wrong outside the lines of justice.

If you’re good and forgiving to an “evil” person, they may repent of their evil ways, and thus become good. I don’t think it is possible for man to know if another man will stop being evil and repent. I think we can only hope and pray. This life is only temporary. So if we’re good to a truly evil being that is going to Hell, our kindness will not be wasted forever on evil. Also, we will not be empowering evil forever by being kind and giving them things.(*v1) Evil beings are only existing temporary with God’s children. This life is passing away, and the new life is coming. It is possible to hate what another person does. This is also known as hating the sin. But we’re not supposed to hate the person themselves. If your mind is set on hating, you should not take revenge yourself. Let God take revenge.(*v2) This makes sense too because you may not take enough revenge or more commonly, take too much revenge. God can meet it out at the right degree. Even though God is the one that could take revenge, we’re still to be loving and kind to the person.

*v2 Romans 12:19 Never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God’s anger do it. For the scripture says, “I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord.”
